The land fragments surrounding Sicily are some of the privileged spots to enjoy the characteristics of the Mediterranean Sea, and from historic center to historic center, you can fall more and more in love with the features of sandy beaches or the gentle hills near the sea.

The Aeolian Archipelago
About 20 kilometers north of the Sicilian coast, you can find the Aeolian Islands, perhaps themost famous archipelago among all the islands of Sicily.
This archipelago is made up of 7 islands, all of volcanic origin. In addition to these, there are other minor islands that are a joy for those who own a sailboat (and maybe want to organize a weekend getaway) and are looking for a place to relax.
The beauties of the Aeolian Islands are truly incredible and it is difficult to summarize everything in a single block of text.
Apart from the minor islets and various rocks used as bases for diving competitions by tourists, life on the Aeolian Islands is what we might call a slow life:nature dominates the landscapes, the archipelago is at most scathed by volcanic eruptions that occasionally make the news across Italy.
The region has focused heavily on tourism in these places and, therefore, those seeking the wildest experience possible should aim to reach Alicudi and Filicudi, the islands farthest from the coast (but no less beautiful for that).
The largest island, Lipari, also hosts the Monte Fossa Delle Felci, a volcano extinct for hundreds of thousands of years that is the highest peak in the entire archipelago.
Among the other islands, we highlight the beautiful (and less crowded) Salina and the incredible Vulcano and Stromboli, perfect representations of nature's power as a shaping force of the earth.
Stromboli, among other things, has a very specific identity due to its black sand beaches,remnants of volcanic activity that has always characterized island life.
The Pelagie Islands
Closer to Africa than Italy are the Pelagie Islands, an archipelago made up of five islands, only two of which (Lampedusa and Linosa) are inhabited.
One of the most incredible features of these Sicilian islands is their visual distance from the imagery of the other Sicilian islands.
Lampedusa, for example, is the largest of the Pelagie Islands and is characterized by a sparse vegetation. The land is scorched by the sun, lacking forests and woods, and dotted with several incredibly charming beaches.

Let's return to mainland Sicily and move to the
western side of the region to find the Egadi Archipelago.This is one of the

Trapani and Marsala and is divided among three main islands (Favignana, Marettimo, and Levanzo) and a plethora of smaller islands and islets. What attractions can a tourist enjoy when visiting the Egadi Islands?
