Walking helps thinking and fuels creativity. Letting your steps guide you leads the mind toward discovery. As the philosopher Nietzsche wrote, “All great thoughts are conceived while walking.” And who can disagree? Most of us have found ourselves in this situation. Stefano, too, today an ambassador and photographer for Meeters,is a great enthusiast of walking and trekking.
A computer scientist and programmer by profession, Stefano is a great lover of hikes and long walks which, before meeting Meeters in 2019 thanks to a friend, he used to do solo on weekends.
What drives him on these solitary adventures through parks, trails, and cities is also his great passion for photography. With his DSLR camera, he has traveled across much of Lombardy and ventured into Piedmont and Veneto.His desire to discover new, unknown places and share his passions eventually led Stefano to Meeters. Let’s see how.
Stefano and the Turning Point with Meeters
“Even before I knew Meeters, I was never at home on weekends. I’d take the car and go alone northwards. I’d head to Bergamo, or to Como,or even further up for a walk. I rarely stay home, especially on Sundays. Sunday afternoons, I’d often jump online right after eating, look for places to explore, grab the car, and that’s how my excursions would start. Otherwise, I’d bike around nearby. For me, Sundays are made for walking and unplugging, preferably outside the home environment,” Stefano tells us.
As happens to all explorers and walkers, the search for new stimuli led Stefano to connect with friends and acquaintances. He was looking for other walking enthusiasts like himself to discover new trails and places to explore, and to meet new people. That’s when a friend suggested he join Meeters.
“I have a group of friends who are lazy or devoted to soccer. So finding company to walk with was tough. Thanks to a friend, I discovered the Meeters world. Now I finally pursue my passion in good company and with friendly people.”
We often insist on involving our longtime friends because it’s comfortable not to leave our comfort zone.But then we realize we can’t fully realize our desires simply because our friends don’t share the same interests or don’t care about that particular passion as much as we do. It becomes essential to step outside our circle and look elsewhere for opportunities to go out. This happened to Stefano as to many other Meeters members. And, as we’ve seen in other stories, new friendships can form, or even professional breakthroughs.
It was back in 2019 when Stefano attended his first event.Since then, he has never stopped. In fact, he found fertile ground to cultivate his passion for photography and, after a few events, became an Ambassador. To date, you have spent pleasant days with friendly people.
