A sound bath involves the complete immersion of an individual in an atmosphere made entirely of sounds. It is a special form of meditation that uses sound frequencies to reach a state of deep relaxation and release.

Participating in such an activity is recommended. Those going through difficult times, crises, anxiety, and stress have at their disposal moments to set aside worries and emerge rejuvenated.

At the core of this type of bath is a law of physics, that of “resonance.” The sound vibrations can generate waves that spread throughout a wider surrounding environment. This would also happen to the human mind and body if properly stimulated.

Sound as Inner Medicine

Some research has confirmed that music benefits mental and physical health, especially at the nervous system level and in reducing daily anxiety and stress.

Sound has always been used as a healing tool alongside traditional medicine.

The history of music as a cure for the soul is ancient. It was practiced by the native peoples of Australia and the Americas, the ancient Egyptians, and Tibetan monks. The use of Tibetan singing bowls comes from their meditative culture.

The music therapy is today a natural oasis rich in waterfalls and streams. It is located near Fumane, in Lessinia.

Also called Valle dei Torrenti, the area is crossed by many small streams and waterways that flow into a larger one, the Progno di Negrar. The most notable feature of this river is that it rarely dries up throughout the year.

This valley is rich in wildlife, forests, waterfalls, and natural rock formations. Among these are not only the streams mentioned but also small rivulets that carve canyons into the rocky walls.

The Valle dei Progni is also rich in prehistoric archaeological finds and sites, of fundamental importance to the area.

It is crossed by a hiking trail, the Sentiero del Progno, equipped with a walkway with handrails and steps.

The moderately difficult route starts in Molina, a hamlet of Valpolicella that hosts the Parco delle Cascate, and ends in Mondrago, a district named after the watercourse that runs through it, the Rio Mondrago. Here you find the Parco della Val Sorda, which offers several medium-to-high difficulty trekking routes and where you can cross a Tibetan bridge, to experience the thrill of being suspended in the air.

Due to its history and geo-physical features, and especially because it is a territory rich in water sources, the Valle dei Progni is a place well suited for a sound bath in nature.

Being particularly quiet, in the valley the sound of flowing water reigns harmoniously and supremely over every other element. This creates an atmosphere that is extremely peaceful and rejuvenating.

You can also meditate while walking along the trail, enjoyingtotal isolation and immersed in the sounds of nature, then stop and have the actual sound bath, surrounded by gongs and Tibetan singing bowls that lead to an even deeper contemplative state.

The effects of stress reduction and energetic rebalancing will be even more powerful this way.
