There are indeed many hiking trails in this area, featuring various levels of difficulty, some circling the lakeshore and others venturing towards mountain peaks such as Monte Baldo or Monte Altissimo di Nago. Discovering the Tempesta Busatte Trail
Opened in 2005, the Tempesta Busatte Trail quickly became one of the favorite attractions for all hikers visiting Lake Garda. It climbs along the slopes of Monte Baldo, on the Trentino shore of the lake, offering a unique and breathtaking view of this wonderful body of water.
The loop trail does not present major difficulties: it is about 10 km long, takes around three hours for a round trip, and its elevation changes do not exceed 250 meters. However, it is a very exposed trail, where you will find yourself walking on stairs fixed to the rock—very safe but practically suspended in mid-air. 400 steps have earned it the nickname “balcony over Garda.
In short, the Tempesta Busatte Trail is not ideal for those who suffer from severe vertigo. But for all other trekkers, it should definitely be on the list of routes to discover.
Any time of year is good to plan a trip here, as Lake Garda boasts an enviable mild climate and pleasant sunny days throughout all seasons. If you venture out in winter, however, always check the weather conditions forecast for your hike. In summer, keep in mind that the trails are really crowded with tourists and trekkers, and you might encounter a lot of congestion along the path.

How to Get There
The Tempesta Busatte Trail leads from Nago-Torbole, a small village in the province of Trento, to Tempesta, the location that once marked the border between Italy and the Austro-Hungarian Empire.
To reach Nago-Torbole, simply follow the Brenner motorway to the Rovereto Sud exit, then continue towards the town along the SS240. From the center of Torbole, you can conveniently reach the Busatte Park parking lot. Once you pass the park's restaurant, you will come across the starting point of the loop trail.
All sections of the trail are well marked with the classic white and red signs, and once you spot the first one, the adventure begins!
The Tempesta Busatte Trail
The first stretch of the trail is very easy and pleasant. You will walk along a semi-flat road that crosses the forest and takes about twenty minutes to cover.
You will be surrounded by lush, fresh, and unspoiled nature on one side, while on the other you can admire Lake Garda stretching peacefully at your feet. The view is priceless right from the start: Torbole, Monte Misone, Monte Brione, and the forts dating back to World War I so you don't miss any of the available dates!
