Happy that this choice, dictated by technical and organizational needs, has found such broad support from the project's supporters, this time at Lake Tovel!
The magnificent Lake Tovel
The destination of this Instameet is Lake Tovel, an alpine lake located in Val di Non (more precisely in the province of Trento) at an altitude of 1178 m above sea level within the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park.
It has also been called “the Bear Lake” because some brown bears live in the valley, and “the Red Lake” due to the reddening phenomenon of its waters, which occurred until 1964 caused by an alga.
The surface of the lake is completely frozen, allowing us to cross a good stretch of it while enjoying the clear sky and bright sun that on the trail would otherwise be hidden by the many trees of the Park.
The day is truly wonderful.
We continue cheerfully, often stopping to take photos of the landscape or some group members who, in line with the theme chosen for the occasion, wear something red: the color creates spectacular contrasts with the whiteness of the snow and the photos are truly one better than the other!
We take advantage of a clearing along the lake shore to take a short break and get to know each other better.
It is truly amazing how this project manages to bring together so many people from different cities and from such diverse experiences thanks to the shared passion for nature and photography!
After having refreshed ourselves properly, we resume our walk.
We are really happy to feel great participation from the members, who show genuine interest in upcoming destinations and provide us with valuable ideas and much appreciated advice. We continue along the circular path winding through the trees until it opens again onto the lake: here the hike turns into a playful snowball fight from which only hunger manages to distract us.
We then reach the picnic area where we enjoy our lunch together.
The day continues carefree.
We decide to extend our walk by heading along the trail leading to Malga Flavona: this too does not disappoint our expectations and offers us stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains.
The outing has come to an end: after having a warm drink together in the new “Le Albere” district of Trento we say goodbye with smiles, promising to meet again at the next event. Thanks to all participants!
