November is always associated with rain, cold, and fog. But even though in many cases we can't expect much more, November is the perfect month to travel. Where to Go in November in Italy
You don’t need to visit tropical paradises to find sun and warmth in November. Even in our peninsula, you can find places where bad weather seems nowhere to be found. Let’s discover some together!
Sicily
The sea in winter has a different beauty, arcane and mysterious, but there are seas that seem to have no seasons and the Sicilian one is definitely among them. The only difference you’ll notice between August and November is the absence of tourists crowding beaches that you can finally admire with fresh eyes. But after all, you can still dive in and sunbathe for a few hours.
There isn’t a part of Sicily that isn’t worth visiting in November, but a very interesting itinerary is the southeastern area. Alongside beaches and natural panoramas, there are archaeological sites and Baroque cities that are truly unique, protected as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
Catania, Syracuse, Ragusa, but also the imposing Castle of Donnafugata and the Necropolis of Pantalica. A must-visit is also Modica, for a taste of the famous chocolate you can only find here.
Lake Garda
With its vast surface area, Lake Garda touches three regions and offers a unique variety of landscapes, from mountains to hills. Anyone who comes here will surely find something to do that suits them.
The climate on Garda is always mild and in November the weather is less harsh than in the surrounding areas. Consider that the lake’s waters never freeze, with the last recorded freeze dating back to 1709!

Cinque Terre
The Cinque Terre are beautiful at any time of year and November is no exception, as evidenced by the many tourists who visit despite the milder climate.
A holiday along this wonderful Ligurian coast means above all visiting the splendid towns, colorful, picturesque, and maritime, of Corniglia, Vernazza, Monterosso, Riomaggiore, and Manarola. Each town is unique and all should be visited to get lost in their alleys, taste local specialties, and maybe even admire them from the sea during a boat trip.
The Cinque Terre are also crossed by really beautiful hiking trails like the Via dei Santuari, a long route that touches all five sanctuaries of the towns, suspended between sea and sky.

Lisbon
Lisbon is one of the great European capitals, a romantic and melancholic city like fado, the musical genre born in its streets. Temperatures in November start to become milder and occasional light rain is not uncommon, but generally the sun always shines and being outdoors is more than pleasant.
This is the perfect destination for those who want to discover a city rich in art and history. Everything in Lisbon recalls its great past of explorations and maritime conquests. The Belém district is therefore a must-see, to visit the splendid Tower, built in Manueline style, the Portuguese Gothic, right in the place from which Vasco da Gama set sail.
Among other monuments from the past, let’s not forget the fortress of the Castelo de São Jorge, the Monastery of Jerónimos, and the Convent of Carmo. The latter in particular is the imposing ruined convent that recalls the tragedy of the earthquake that destroyed much of the city in 1755 and that today!
