Planning Your Trip to the Amalfi Coast
Just hearing the name, the Amalfi Coast can make us daydream. This splendid area needs no long introduction; suffice it to say it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site back in 1997.
As the name suggests, its center is the town of Amalfi, but the entire area stretches along a stretch of the Tyrrhenian coast in Campania which includes part of the province of Salerno. It is therefore a strip of land that, after the Sorrentine Peninsula, goes from Positano to Vietri sul Mare.
Besides being renowned for its natural beauty, it also offers many places of cultural interest, from Roman, Byzantine, Greek, and medieval times, but above all traces of the splendor of the Republic of Amalfi and the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies.
When to Go
The Amalfi Coast has the great advantage of being bathed in sunshine 365 days a year. So there isn't really a best time to visit, but it depends on what you want to do.
Summer is understandably the busiest season. But if you love the sea and want a pure relaxation holiday on the beaches of this coast, then you'll have to put up with some crowds. In the summer months, the coast also comes alive with cultural events, concerts, festivals, and fairs, so you certainly won't lack entertainment.
However, in spring and autumn, it's not uncommon to enjoy beautiful warm days perfect for a swim! Thanks to the mild climate of the area these two seasons allow for a respectable tour of the Amalfi Coast without having to give up anything or worry about the weather.

How to Get There
The quintessential romantic dream for a tour of the Amalfi Coast involves a motorcycle or a beautiful vintage convertible car. But dreams often clash with reality. Traveling with your own vehicle on the Amalfi Coast can be difficult, given the lack of parking spaces and their high cost.
In summer, it is highly discouraged to travel with your own vehicle since, starting in 2022, regulations limit vehicle access on weekends and at certain times. The advice is therefore to use your own vehicle cautiously and, where possible, prioritize public transport. Which Places to Visit
