Lake Iseo, Lagh de Iés in Lombard, Lacus Isarnus or Lacus Iesinus in Latin, is an all-Italian gem located in the northwestern part of Lombardy, between the provinces of Bergamo, Brescia, and Cremona.
It is the largest lake in the pre-Alpine region. In the past, Lake Iseo was known as “Lake Sebino,” named after the municipality of Sebino (now Pisogne), located on the northern side of the basin.
Its surface area is 65 km² and it has a depth of about 192 meters.
The lake is fed by the waters of the Oglio River, which flows through it from south to north before emptying into Lake Garda.
