How to Get There from Verona and Surroundings
There are many ways to reach Monte Pastello. You can follow the southern route, which starts from Cavalo, a hamlet of Fumane, or the classic northern route, coming from Breonio, perhaps the most popular trail among hikers, following the suggestive “blue path,” passing through the fairytale-like Rovinal and Molane districts. This latter location, just below the mountain, or that of Paroletto, are the recommended starting points for those who prefer a simpler and more direct walk for those with limited time or in case of uncertain weather.
The entire Monte Pastello area is intersected by the nodes of the trails marked directly by the CAI (Italian Alpine Club), which cross the fantastic Adige Valley, passing through the Fumane Valley until reaching Monte, a hamlet of the municipality of Sant’Ambrogio di Valpolicella. These paths intertwine and lead directly to the summit of Monte Pastello.
What to See Along the Trails
Walking the trails it is not uncommon to come across specific points of interest. Along the route starting from Malone, for example, there are stone installations that directly refer to the Stations of the Cross, to accompany the pilgrim on their spiritual journey to the summit of Monte Pastello, making the hike unique and of great religious interest.
