The Tru di Lec Lakes Trail in Alta Badia
The Tru di Lec lakes trail is perfect for those new to hiking who want a terrain to test themselves on. In fact, it is one of the easiest routes in Alta Badia, yet it allows you to admire unique panoramas among forests and lakes, while also climbing some more challenging mountain paths. The total duration is about 2 hours and the elevation gain is only 380 meters..
The starting point is La Villa, a hamlet of the municipality of Badia. From the historic center, follow the CAI signs and soon you reach the first stop, the Sompunt pond.From here the view is truly splendid, with mountains and meadows reflected on the calm surface of the lake.
The second part of the hike is a bit more challenging and leads to the Dla Lunch pond,smaller than the previous one and not quite as scenic. But the walk through the woods definitely makes the effort to get up here worthwhile!
Trek to the Sanctuary of Santa Croce
This second hike is also fairly easy, though more tiring and longer, lasting a full 4 hours. The Sanctuary of Santa Croce is one of the most beloved places in Alta Badia and boasts a very long history. The consecration of the church begins not far from the Valparola Pass, near the ‘Ntra i Sass fort. The start is quite easy, although along the way you encounter many rocks and stones.
