Our itinerary begins in Gressoney Saint Jean with the discovery of the classic fairy-tale castle. With its white brick structure and tall pointed towers, Castel Savoia is a dream come true.
It is in fact a huge 19th-century villa built at the behest of Queen Margherita of Savoy in a breathtaking landscape, at the foot of Monte Rosa among fir and larch forests. From here you can gaze over the entire valley below up to the Lyskamm glacier.
Inside, you can admire the splendid decorations and original furnishings, all in medieval style as designed by the queen herself. She loved the place so much that she decided to live here until her death.
Fénis Castle
