Jordan has always been your dream destination, but you don’t know where to start? Consider taking an organized group trip to Jordan, it could be something to add to your bucket list at least once in a lifetime

Jordan is a magical land worth visiting for at least a few days; a tour discovering its unique places will reveal all their splendor. Petra, the desert, the Dead Sea—there are many unmissable places. Don’t know who to travel with? No problem, there are many organized group trips you can join.

In about five or six days, you can see several places; keep in mind that flights from Italy are not daily throughout the year. Choose your organized group trip and make sure visits to the places we want to tell you about are included.

Organized Group Trip to Jordan: 5 Destinations to Visit

1. Dead Sea

This is the lowest place on Earth, about 410 meters below sea level. Here the water is extremely salty, so a beach-only holiday in Jordan is not recommended, but bathing in the Dead Sea is an experience to have at least once in your life. We think it’s truly a unique and unmatched place, and it won’t be like swimming in normal water; the water is so rich in salt and minerals that you will float even if you don’t want to. Remember it’s advisable to bathe in the Dead Sea for a maximum of twenty minutes; also take advantage of the muds that will leave your skin smooth and soft.

2. Petra

Over 2,000 years ago, the Nabateans settled in Petra and turned it into a very important center for spice and silk trade . Tours of the city usually start by walking through the Siq, a kind of narrow canyon carved into the mountain walls that leads to the Khaznah, the Treasury. This is the most famous façade, featured in millions of photos, rising over 40 meters high and about 30 meters wide. Dedicate a full day to visiting Petra’s monuments. Don’t miss the Monastery of El Deir and Aaron’s Tomb.

3. Aqaba

About two hours’ drive from Petra is Aqaba, a world that seems completely different. Overlooking the Red Sea, with views of the skyscrapers of Eilat, here you can truly enjoy the sea (unlike the Dead Sea areas!). This city evokes the exploits of the famous Lawrence of Arabia, a nationalist against the Ottomans during World War I. The Greek Orthodox Church of St. George houses a special mosaic depicting a map of the ancient Holy Land, showing the entire territory from Jerusalem to the Nile Delta.

Organized Group Trip to Jordan: Two Mistakes to Avoid

Before exploring this wonderful land, you need to consider two fundamental things to avoid unpleasant surprises. Here’s the first: as mentioned earlier, the Dead Sea can be a place to relax and have fun, but we don’t recommend staying in the area for many days. Bathing there is not like swimming in our seas. The water is so salty that swimming is practically impossible. However, there are perfect spots for mud treatments. The second thing is that Jordan is a place full of authentic and fascinating local traditions ; don’t plan a DIY trip, but rely on someone who knows this beautiful country and join a group experience to share.
