Science has so far shown that only a small number of living beings are in a certain sense capable of rebirth.
These living beings, usually belonging to animal families far less complex than humans, are able to turn back time, soothe scars, heal ailments, and start over.
For us humans, it’s not so simple, at least not without someone’s help. Today we change the usual topic because we talk about how to help women who suffer violence and how Meeters has decided to embrace this cause.
Women for Women – Against Violence and the Camomilla Awards
Women For Women – Against Violence is the name of an event created by women for women with a clear purpose: to combat all forms of violence. The common narrative about violence against women is often one of bloody violence, of wounds and scars that remain on the body. The reality, however, is quite different: focusing only on that kind of violence excludes more insidious and malicious practices, which are sadly common in our daily lives.
Violence against women does not only affect their bodies but has the power to go beyond, touching the woman’s self-image, her femininity, her sexuality, and her motherhood. Want an example? Let’s talk about breast cancer. Breast cancer is the most common cancer overall among women and has an incidence rate affecting approximately one in eight women.
during their lifetime. Every single year, there are about 50.000 diagnoses, 30% and some of these are made in women under 50 years old..
These numbers, however, refer to uncontrollable events, to random chance, to illnesses. Violence against women, on the other hand, too often has a deliberate or even worse, social origin; let’s give more examples to try to broaden the reader’s perspective on the subject. Every single year, just in Italy,, more than 100 women are killed by men simply because they are women. According to broad surveys, about 1 in 3 women have reported being victims of abuse during their lifetime, a figure that helps put into perspective the 7 million women confirmed as victims of violence. How to help women who suffer violence knowing these numbers? An Award to Encourage Rebirth
Starting from these premises and this situation come the
Camomilla Awards, an award ceremony with a specific goal. This is nothing more than an incentive for the rebirth of affected women, a paradigm shift from the common narrative that tends to emphasize this disadvantaged position. The An award with a specific purpose. This is nothing more than an incentive for the rebirth of affected women, a paradigm shift from the common narrative that instead seems to emphasize this disadvantaged position. will be held in Rome thanks to the organizational efforts of the Associazione Consorzio Umanitas, aiming to promote the fight against gender violence and the well-being of women battling breast cancer. The concept of
rebirth is also conveyed through the imagery of the chamomile flower: in herbal medicine, it is used to revitalize sick plants . Hence the message: the support of others becomes essential to live again, even after suffering violence and even if such violence has left marks impossible to erase on one’s body or heart. For the occasion, several celebrities will participate as speakers at the Camomilla Awards with a clear task: to share their
personal experiences related to these issues. This kind of testimony is extremely important because it highlights an element many underestimate: experiences like these have such power that they can leave a mark on anyone’s soul , regardless of social status, economic well-being, or physical appearance. The Camomilla Awards therefore aim to
break the narrative that focuses on the pain of women victims of violence by shifting the focus elsewhere. The Awards seek to give these women a propulsive push toward a new life. This ambitious goal, achievable only through the synergistic collaboration of multiple entities, will be represented by a check provided by sponsors and donors. This will be given directly to one of the women victims of violence involved in the event with the precise purpose of providing the necessary resources to carry forward her process of rebirth. Meeters strongly believes in the project of

Women for Women – Against Violence and the Camomilla Awards linked to it, which is why it has decided to participate proactively in this initiative. Throughout the entire month of April, Meeters will provide concrete support for creating one of the aforementioned checks for the rebirth of women through a fundraising campaign. During this month,
we will collect €1 for every ticket sold without adding any surcharge to the final user’s expense. All the money we raise during this campaign will form the check that we will then donate to Filomena Lamberti. In doing so, we will give.
Filomena, a woman eager to get back on her feet after what she has suffered, the necessary support to obtain areal chance of rebirth. We at
Meeters firmly believe in the need to change the narrative that is otherwise one-sided. Talking about violence against women with a morbid focus on the suffering and pain experienced is counterproductive, overshadowing what should be the most important thing. Thanks to others, to someone’s support, to concrete help from outside, anyone can find the right tools to get back up after a hard blow. Just as we promote social gathering through moments of meeting, just as we want to encourage sharing experiences, this time we believe it is as legitimate as it is right
Thanks to others, to the support of someone, to concrete help coming from outside, anyone can find the right tools to pull themselves up after a hard blow. Just as we promote social gathering through moments of meeting, just as we want to encourage the sharing of experiences, this time we believe it is as legitimate as it is right to help those in difficulty. For this reason, we decided not to add any surcharge to the final user but to independently handle the fundraising. Supporting the project is simple
