In 2005, the radio program Caterpillar launched the initiative “M’illumino di meno,” a symbolic campaign to raise awareness about consumption and energy saving. The campaign was hugely successful and today, in 2022, it has reached its 18th edition. At Meeters, we are very attentive to this theme, and it couldn’t be otherwise: some of the cornerstones of our philosophy are sustainability, environmental awareness, and ecology. On this occasion, we have created tailor-made experiences to bring all the curious closer to caring for the environment and the idea of responsible consumption. Discover how to take part in M’illumino di meno with Meeters!

Meeters for M’illumino di Meno
Friday, March 11, 2022, all of Italy will celebrate “M’illumino di Meno,” the annual day dedicated to energy saving. This is a day dedicated to celebrating the environment, but it’s not just a symbolic occasion: it’s a day to take concrete action in the fight to protect it.
We at Meeters will actively participate by organizing a series of special and unforgettable events and experiences for all ages.
Sustainable lifestyles are close to our hearts: so why not do what we do best, combining love for nature with fun and extraordinary experiences?
Here are just a few examples of what we have planned:

Bike Rides
For the 18th edition, we will organize some activities themed around “bicycles”: when talking about sustainable lifestyles, we certainly can’t forget how fuel consumption impacts our planet! So, the best way to spend Friday, March 11, symbolically chosen as the annual day dedicated to energy saving, is to take part in one of the two-wheeled events.
As always, even when it comes to important topics, we like to do things our way: from the meeting point to the end of the ride, everything will be focused on socializing and enjoying the surrounding environment.
From night rides to bike tours ending with a joyful aperitif, you’ll have the chance to discover the area near your home in a different way.
For example, we’ll have the opportunity to ride along the bike paths running beside the river along the ancient waterways of Bologna, on the Reno, on a route that in medieval times powered silk mills, or we’ll dive into open spaces to ride breathlessly, stimulating the appetite for the final gathering.
What matters is the spirit: M’illumino di meno is a way to strongly support, collectively and with concrete actions, Meeters’ commitment to climate change and pollution.
Bike rides not your thing? Keep reading to find out what else we have in store!

Tastings and Dinners
Night visits to ancient castles, stunning Renaissance villas lit only by candlelight, farms opening their doors with unusual candlelit tastings: these are just some of Meeters’ proposals for this day.
You’ll have the chance to taste local wine in a unique atmosphere, all in the spirit of energy saving, or enjoy regional specialties in a castle among the mountains (we’re talking about the beautiful Castle of Avio, just one of many outings we offer). It will be like stepping back in time and experiencing the thrill of sipping excellent products with an important awareness: you’re taking an action that will have less impact on the planet.
This will only add value to your dinner or aperitif: it’s more enjoyable to be together in an eco-friendly way!
Walks
Night trekking– what a passion!
Among Meeters’ initiatives and events for M’illumino di meno, you’ll find evocative walks culminating with a nice dinner. All, naturally, by candlelight.
Nothing is more satisfying than an excursion to discover the local area with the awareness of being part of a special day. For anyone who cares about the environment, it will be an opportunity to fully experience pure trekking, with total respect for the surrounding nature.
We will visit waterfalls and follow little-traveled paths: join us to celebrate this day in an unusual way!

… And Much More!
In short, for this 18th edition of the day dedicated to energy saving and sustainable lifestyles, we have organized many themed activities. Some classic, others truly unique.
For example, have you ever taken part in a composting course? This is truly an idea you can take with you even after the outing with us. The proposal is aimed at anyone who wants to reduce their environmental impact and do something useful in everyday life. But it will also be fun to engage in a hands-on activity in the company of others who, like you, want to do more to preserve the Earth and act against climate change. These are small gestures, but they really matter, and we at Meeters want to create even more awareness around us!
Take a look at our events to learn all the details of the activity. And staying true to the ecological spirit: want to share a parking spot or ask for a ride? You can travel with other outing companions and share or find a car spot!
