But all Meeters events certainly share one thing: the organization and presence of the best professional local guides. The Meeters Guides are environmental, cultural, alpine, historical, and much more. They are our specialized tourist guides and are certainly among the key factors of our community's success. Here's who they are, with a closer look:
Meeters Local Guides
One of the goals of Meeters is to make every moment of the outing incredible. But always without forgetting that every experience must be comfortable and make the entire group feel cared for and safe.
We truly want all outings to be unique and authentic, always putting people at the center, as is in our spirit. Not only that: participants in our activities are usually people constantly seeking beautiful new experiences. They desire to learn something new on every outing, not just to enjoy a pleasant walk or tour. They seek a sense of wonder and amazement, even in small things and details. And it is our goal to make sure this happens.
Our events in nature take place in many locations but always target a broad audience of different levels. The length of our routes varies from 5 to 12 kilometers, with a maximum elevation gain of 500 meters; it is essential for us to always bring added value with the activities.
All this is made possible by the presence of our Meeters Guides, fundamental figures in the Meeters team and community, alongside Ambassadors and the Organizational Team.
Profile of a Meeters Guide
They are expert guides knowledgeable about the territory and environmental beauties, but above all, they are sociable people who, through the visits, manage to convey not only the values of the territory but also those of discovery and social connection typical of Meeters.
The typical Meeters guide usually breaks the ice during experiences and oversees our typical “Third Half,” a moment of sharing and conviviality at the end of the excursion.
After visiting the most beautiful places with the Meeters, they stay with them to chat in company, while getting to know each other and meeting new friends, perhaps over a nice glass of wine.
Exactly as is in the spirit of our community, Meeters guides leave no one behind and lead their adventure companions step by step, naturally and safely.
For Meeters, guides are not just mere providers but true business partners!
In many tourism-related companies, travel agencies, tour operators, or other organizations, everyone already has their defined role. With Meeters, however, there is always something new: maybe someone on their very first outing finds themselves alongside a seasoned participant. Then there are the veterans, who act as synergy elements for newcomers, figures who support the guide not only in knowledge and discovery of the place but also in understanding Meeters and how it works.
For example, this is one of the roles of the Ambassador figure, valuable also for the guide themselves, someone to always count on, like long-time members, to create a wonderful atmosphere.
On this note, a curiosity: some guides are already Meeters members when they join, others become so soon after and participate when they are not working guiding other group members!
Jacopo: The Guide Who Brings Literature on the Outing
Jacopo, for example, is one of our longest-serving guides. In fact, he has been with us since February 2019 and knows Meeters like the back of his hand, or rather, like his mountains!
He has been an environmental guide for 11 years. He started at an amateur level assisting other guides to see if this could really be his destiny. And it was: for eight years he has worked professionally.
Raised and always living at the foot of Monte Grappa, he has been around the mountains since his earliest months of life. Growing up, he realized he wanted to share this passion with others, communicate what he had learned, and engage people. Turning this passion into a profession also requires technique and safety. But Jacopo did not give up and continued the path to becoming a qualified guide.
Since he started collaborating with us in 2019, when he received our email, he was driven by curiosity and completely identified with our values. He confided that not only were his expectations exceeded, but the satisfactions were many.
Jacopo has an incredible record with us of more than 200 outings, including one of the most beloved events by our members, the visit to Brent de L’Art. Brent de L’Art is a gorge system located in Borgo Valbelluna, in the province of Belluno. An exciting excursion, a kind of majestic and beautiful canyon, which won the hearts of Meeters also thanks to the expertise brought by guide Jacopo.
Jacopo was also the guide for the first Meeters snowshoe hike. On this occasion, he took us to discover a fairy-tale snowy environment, magical. This enchanted and evocative mountain environment requires effort and technique but leads to surprises and discoveries. The desire for something different we mentioned earlier, to which our Meeters are very attached.Jacopo is also a high school teacher of science, chemistry, and biology, and manages to balance classroom life with outdoor life. Teaching enriches him and is a formative experience he can bring to his guiding activity.
A feature that makes his outings unique and inimitable is that during excursions Jacopo likes to stop at a particularly suggestive spot and read aloud a passage from a book that moved him.
A sensory experience that allows participants to listen to what they are seeing. Imagine the cold of the snowfall on your skin, the backdrop of the Dolomites with the veil of freshly fallen flakes, and the group stopping to listen to a passage by Mario Rigoni Stern!
Because the goal is to feel connected to nature and the environment.
This is why walking is so important: making the journey with your legs is a bit like making progress as a person, weaving relationships. “Moving forward” is also synonymous with getting to know yourself and others more deeply.
This philosophy that Meeters has spread and made concrete manages to combine the possibility of discovering incredible places while making new friends. But it wouldn’t be the same without our local guides, experts of the territory and excellent facilitators of new encounters in safe, natural, carefree settings.
